Ronald J. Keibel (R) was elected to the Broome County Legislature for his second term in November, 2006 and took his Oath of Office on January 1, 2007.
Legislator Keibel represents northwestern Broome County residents. His district includes the towns of Lisle, Nanticoke, Triangle, areas in Barker and Maine including the villages of Whitney Point and Lisle.
Prior to Mr. Keibel's election to the County Legislature, he served as a Town of Triangle Council member for eight years.
Legislator Keibel holds various positions of responsibility. He is a member of the County Administration Committee, Economic Development and Planning Committee, the Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Brome County Environmental Management Council. Mr. Keibel has previously served as Chairman of the County Administration Committee and was a member of the Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee.
Mr. Keibel's legislative duties cover a wide area of county departments and services, including County Clerk, County Executive, Elections Board, Information Technology Department, Law Department, Legislature, Planning and Economic Development Department, Agriculture, Environmental Management Council, Industrial Development Agency, Office of Employment and Training, Southern Tier East Regional Planning Development Board, Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Bureau, District Attorney, Public Defender, Coroners, Dog Shelter, Emergency Services, Probation Department, STOP-DWI, Sheriff, Civil Defense, Fire Coordinator, Traffic Safety Board, and Security Division.
Legislator Keibel has a long standing record of serving area residents. In addition to his former position as Triangle Councilman, and his current legislative work, Ron holds the positions of Town of Chenango Assessor and Code Enforcement Officer.
Ron and his wife, Vickie, reside at 169 Keibel Road in Whitney Point. They are the parents of one daughter, Stacie, and one son, Nicolas.
