Christopher J. Kuzel (R) is currently serving his third term on the County Legislature, and took his Oath of Office on January 1, 2007. Mr. Kuzel's legislative district is comprised of areas within the Village of Johnson City and the Town of Dickinson, as well as Ely Park in the City of Binghamton.

Legislator Kuzel is a member of the Education, Culture and Recreation Committee, Transportation and Rural Development Committee, and is a member of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena Board of Directors. Mr. Kuzel has previously served as Chair of the county's Education, Culture and Recreation Committee. He has also served as a member of the County Administration Committee and the Human Services Committee. His work is focused on issues of government effectiveness and service improvement.

Chris' legislative work and experience covers a wide range of county departments and services, including the Office for Aging, County Clerk, County Executive, Board of Elections, Family Violence Prevention, Information Technology, Law, Legislature, Social Services, Youth Bureau, Veterans Services, Library, Parks, Forum, Veterans' Memorial Arena, Broome Community College, and Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Chris Kuzel is an investor in real estate in Broome County, and is very sensitive to the homeowners' need for affordable property taxes. One of his primary goals as a legislator is increased communication and providing responsible representation to the residents of the 12th District. Chris routinely holds Community Meetings within his legislative district to talk with area residents, listen to their concerns, answer questions, and has also arranged to have county officials present to provide constituent-requested information.

Chris is a 1987 graduate of Johnson City High School and a lifelong resident of the school district. His community participation includes active involvement with the Knights of Columbus and the Johnson City Youth Soccer Association. Chris also serves on the Village of Johnson City Recreation Board.

Chris is a member of St. James Church, and resides in the Village of Johnson City with his wife, Karen, and two sons, Peyton and Alex.
